Kick-off time

So, a kick-off trip for the MLW project. I head out to Lusaka, Zambia at the end of this month to attend the Sustainable Energy Southern Africa Forum of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership. The event "provides an opportunity to discuss progress on Zambia's SE4All Action Agenda and Investment Prospectus, to identify specific opportunities for strengthening multi-stakeholder partnerships to achieve the three goals of SE4All and to learn more about concrete markets and business opportunities for renewables in the Southern African region." A lift from the conference website, which dramatically shortens the time it takes to write a blog, I'm finding. And in case you were wondering, the three SE4All goals are: universal access to modern energy services; doubling the rate of improvement in energy efficiency; doubling the share of renewables in the mix. Confess to not knowing that much (yet) about the activities that fall under SE4All - curious to find out about the baselines etc. that they're using. Anyway, aim of the trip is to meet the runners and riders, and to progress the deliverables plan for MLW. What we end up doing will also be shaped by the interests of the Research Associate that we're hiring for. Applications are still being accepted - if you're interested, please consider applying!
